Weather: Rain from Ida arriving; dry and cooler beginning Thursday
From Staff Reports
The National Weather Service says to expect outer bands of rain from former Hurricane Ida to begin arriving in the Coweta County area late this afternoon.
With those bands will come locally heavy rain and gusty winds. Expect a high temperature today of 87 degrees under mostly cloudy skies with South wind at 5-10 mph.
On Tuesday, the remnants of Ida will give Coweta an 80 percent rain chance during the day and evening. Southeast winds will be 10-15 mph with gusts to 25. There will be a slight threat for isolated tornadoes in those bands.
Things begin to get better, weather-wise, on Wednesday as Ida continues northeast. Folks can expect partly sunny skies with a high near 82 and only a 40 percent rain chance. Winds will be from the Southwest at 5-10 mph, gusting to 15.
Finally, dry and cooler air settles in Thursday bringing sunny skies through Sunday. Highs will be in the mid-80s and overnight lows near 62.
