Weather: Tropical system to bring rain to Coweta this weekend
From Staff Reports
Rain is in the weekend forecast here in Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Today (Friday) will be the best day – weather-wise – of the weekend with mostly sunny skies and a high of 92 degrees.
A tropical low pressure system – which could develop into a tropical depression later today – is expected to bring heavy rainfall from the Gulf Coast all the way into Georgia Saturday and Sunday.
As a result, a Flash Flood Watch is in effect for Coweta and surrounding counties from Saturday through Sunday evening. Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches of rain are possible in the Watch area.
Rain chances are llsted at 50 percent Saturday, then 70 percent Saturday night, 80 percent Sunday and 50 percent Sunday night.
