Weather: Warm weekend ahead for Coweta

If you like high temperatures in the mid-80s and a bit muggy, this weekend is your kind of weather.
The National Weather Service says Coweta County residents should expect highs of 85 degrees today, 86 on Saturday and 84 on Sunday. And, the increased humidity will create a 30 percent rain chance today and tomorrow and rises to 50 percent Sunday.
The Summer Block Party in downtown Newnan tomorrow will have a high temperature of near 86 with a slight chance of rain (30%) mainly after 4 p.m. Most of the day events – Paper Shredding, Market Day, Newnan Carnegie Library Party and Family Fun Day at the Park – should stay dry. Movie Night will be from 8-10 p.m. at the Greenville Street Park and have a 30 percent chance of rain.
Overnight lows through the weekend will be in the upper 60s.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
SUNDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
SUNDAY NIGHT – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 67.
