Weather Week in Coweta: Chance of afternoon showers, t-storms through Friday

The National Weather Service has included a rain chance each day of the work week here in Coweta County.

In fact, the NWS says to expect very warm temperatures and humid conditions with rain chances of at least 40 percent on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and 50 percent on Thursday and Friday. Heat index values could reach as high as 101 on Tuesday.

Below is the week’s forecast by the NWS:

MONDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 99. North wind around 5 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

TUESDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 101. East wind around 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. East wind around 5 mph.

THURSDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 89.

FRIDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87.
