From Staff Reports

After little more than a week without rain, Coweta County and Georgia will make up for lost time with a wet work week in the forecast.

The National Weather Service says rain chances begin today at 20 percent, increase to 70 percent overnight and 90 percent on Tuesday. On Wednesday, rain chances stay at 90 percent and then down to 60 percent on Thursday.

High temperatures will be 70 today, 63 on Tuesday, and near 70 on both Wednesday and Thursday. Those highs drop to 60 on Friday and 56 on Saturday.

Isolated thunderstorms are possible today and into tonight from the first of two storm systems moving through Georgia. Today’s primary threats will be lightning and heavy rain possible overnight.

The second system moves in Tuesday with thunderstorms possible, a few could be severe. The possibility of strong to severe storms will be Wednesday, Wednesday night and early Thursday, likely along and south of I-20. Clearing begins later Thursday as the system moves eastward.
