Weather Week in Coweta: Rain clears out by Wednesday, cooler temps move in

Rain is expected for today and much of Tuesday before clearing begins and temperatures drop, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Rain chances range from 80-100 percent today with a high near 56 degrees. On Tuesday, showers and a possible thunderstorm are possible with  highs near 67 degrees and rain chances at 60 percent.

Clearing begins Wednesday and sunny skies return Thursday with a high of only 48 degrees.

Below is the day-by-day breakdown from the NWS:

MONDAY – Showers. High near 56. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

MONDAY NIGHT – Showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 8pm. Low around 51. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

TUESDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10am, then a slight chance of showers between 10am and 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY – A 10 percent chance of showers after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 56. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 48.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 52.
