Weather Week in Coweta: Rain moves in Tuesday; cooler temps arrive Wednesday

After dealing with another mini-heat wave here in Coweta County last week, cooler temperatures and less humid conditions are on the way.

The National Weather Service says after an 80 percent rain chance on Tuesday, drier weather moves into Coweta and most of Georgia on Wednesday with sunny skies and highs of only 83 degrees. The drier, cooler conditions stick around thru Friday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from the NWS (as of 6 a.m. today):

MONDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning.

TUESDAY – Showers and thunderstorms. High near 80. Southwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. North wind around 5 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 86.

FRIDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunny, with a high near 87.
