A chance of strong thunderstorms is in today’s forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

An 80 percent rain chance is listed for today, then 50 percent on Tuesday. Sunny skies return for Wednesday and Thursday before rain moves back in Friday. High temperatures this week in the mid-70s to near 80 degrees.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from NWS:

TODAY – Showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. High near 76. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

TUESDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

WEDNESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 79. North wind around 5 mph becoming southeast in the afternoon.

THURSDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 80.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 77.
