Weather Week: Rain in the forecast through work week

An active weather work week is ahead for Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

It’ll sorta be a roller-coaster weather week with high temperatures going from 68 degrees on Monday, to 53 on Wednesday and down to 49 on Friday. And rain chances go from 40 percent today, to 80 percent Tuesday night, down to 20 percent Thursday and again at 60 percent on Friday.

The low temperatures will drop into the 30s on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Below is the day-by-day breakdown of this week’s weather from the NWS:

TODAY – A 40 percent chance of rain, mainly before 2pm. Patchy fog between 8am and 11am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 68. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph.

TONIGHT – A 30 percent chance of rain, mainly after 3am. Patchy fog after 3am. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 58. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

TUESDAY – Rain likely, mainly after 1pm. Patchy fog before 1pm. Otherwise, cloudy, with a high near 67. South wind around 10 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

TUESDAY NIGHT – Rain before 8pm, then showers, mainly after 8pm. Low around 40. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

WEDNESDAY – Showers, mainly before 8am. High near 53. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

THURSDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers after 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 50.

FRIDAY – Showers likely, mainly after 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 49. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
