Weather Weekend in Coweta: Clearing, drier beginning Saturday

The rainy pattern here in Coweta County for the past week will be moving out on Saturday afternoon, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Today, a 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms is in the forecast this afternoon and tonight. It decreases to 20 percent on Saturday morning before clear skies take over in the afternoon and evening.

Sunday is expected to be sunny with no chance of rain.

High temperatures will be in the mid-80s with lows near 60.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Areas of fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

SATURDAY – A slight chance of showers between 10am and 11am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Northwest wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 60. North wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 83. North wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 60.
