Wednesday: Coweta surpasses 800 COVID-19 cases overall

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, July 8.
Coweta County posted a dozen new cases of COVID-19 today, pushing past the 800-case mark to a new cumulative total of 806. Deaths and hospitalizations were unchanged. It’s now 8 of the past 9 days Coweta has registered 10-or-more cases.
Other cumulative totals in Coweta include 16 deaths and 63 hospitalizations. Single-day highs for Coweta in various categories follow: cases – 46 (July 3); deaths – 3 (May 21); and hospitalizations – 6 (May 12).
Today, Georgia had the 2nd-highest single-day mark with 3420 cases and follows 3,406 cases on Tuesday. It is the 17th consecutive day the state had 1,000-or-more cases in a 24-hour period. In addition on Wednesday, Georgia had 23 deaths, 274 hospitalizations and 31 ICU admits.
Overall, Georgia has 103,890 cumulative cases, 2922 deaths, 12,500 hospitalizations and 2502 ICU admits.
