Much of the same is in the weekend forecast here in Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

High temperatures are expected to be near 90 degrees through Sunday with rain chances each day.

Saturday’s forecast has the best chance of showers or thunderstorms of the weekend. NWS has placed an 80 percent rain chance both Saturday and Saturday night for Coweta County as the cold front which is producing the devastating rain and flooding in Kentucky dips into northern Georgia.

That same front will then head back north on Sunday, thus dropping rain chances to 40 percent.

Otherwise, the forecast is simple – hot and a chance for pop-up showers and thunderstorms. Overnight lows all weekend will be around 71 degrees.

Below is the extended forecast for Coweta from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City as of 8:55 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022. For up-to-date weather information, visit: NWS Newnan Page.
