Weekend Weather: Hot and muggy forecast for Coweta

High temperatures in the upper 80s plus rain chances each day are in the weekend forecast for Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

Today’s high will be 87 degrees with a 60 percent chance of rain in the afternoon under partly sunny skies. On Saturday, much of the same with a high near 86 and a 50 percent rain chance. And finally on Sunday, expect a high of 89 under partly sunny skies with a 40 percent chance of rain.

Overnight lows through the weekend will be near 70.

Monday begins a bit of a drier pattern for the area but warmer temperatures with the highs in the lower 90s.

FRIDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

SATURDAY – A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. West wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

SUNDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

SUNDAY NIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 71.

MONDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92.
