Weekend Weather: Warm, dry forecast for Friday and Saturday

The 70-degree weekend weather will be in place today and Saturday here in Coweta County, according to the National Weather Service.
Tonight’s Spring Art Walk in downtown Newnan should be excellent as far as the weather is concerned. Today’s high will reach 75 degrees and the overnight low is only 51. No rain is forecast.
Saturday’s temperatures will be the warmest of 2019 so far, with highs forecast near 77 degrees.
Rain chances do increase early Sunday morning and into the afternoon. A 50 percent chance of rain and cooler temperatures move in. The high on Sunday is expected to be only 62.
Below is the detailed forecast from the National Weather Service as of 6 a.m. today:
TODAY: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 51. Calm wind.
SATURDAY: Partly sunny, with a high near 77. Light southwest wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.
SATURDAY NIGHT: A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly after 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
SUNDAY: A chance of showers before 9am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms between 9am and 3pm, then a slight chance of showers after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
SUNDAY NIGHT: A 20 percent chance of showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.
