Another busy weekend is on tap in-and-around Coweta County beginning today.
Southern Crescent Literature and Libations and its trio of authors host an event at Leaf & Bean tonight, along with a pair of performances – The Bridges of Madison County and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde – at the Legacy Theatre and Southside Theatre Guild.
On Saturday, Market Day in Newnan, RACE for the Orphans, the Cotton Pickin’ Fair, Georgia Renaissance Festival, Hats and Hooves and Artz in the Park highlight the calendar.
And on Sunday, check out the Cinco de Mayo celebration at Chylaca’s and the Serenbe May Day Festival.
The weather will come into play with rain chances each day, the greatest on Saturday afternoon at 60 percent. Temperatures will be in the lower 80s for the most part.

Newnan Trolley Service
This free service is offered to take riders from downtown Newnan to Ashley Park. Runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Pickup locations at City Hall, the Governor Ellis Arnall Parking Lot on Madison Street, and Ashley Park at Dillard’s (West Entrance) and Regal Cinemas. The first pickup is at 1 p.m. at City Hall with the last full route starting at 7 p.m.

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at Southside
A new and shocking version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic tale of depravity, lust, love and horror at the Southside Theatre Guild for two weekends. On the fog-bound streets of Victorian-era London, Henry Jekyll’s experiments with exotic “powders and tinctures” have brought forth his other self—Edward Hyde, a sensualist and villain free to commit the sins Jekyll is too civilized to comprehend. When Hyde meets a woman who stirs his interest, Jekyll fears for her life and decides to end his experiments. But Hyde has other ideas, and so the two sides battle each other in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse to determine who shall be the master and who his slave. With multiple Hydes portrayed by members of the cast.

Market Day in Downtown Newnan
Market Day is the very first Saturday of each month from April to December in downtown Newnan. The Market features over 50 vendors made up of local artisans, artists and farmers offering handmade, homemade and homegrown products, with new vendors and new products each month. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, salsa, pottery, art, freshly baked goods, handmade furniture, birdhouses, wood art, and much more!
