The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Oct. 2.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 9 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, with no deaths or hospitalizations reported.

To date, Coweta has recorded cumulative totals of 2646 cases, 48 deaths and 133 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 8.4 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 5.2 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

Statewide on Friday, Georgia confirmed 1300 cases (down 8 from Thursday’s total), including 43 deaths, 123 hospitalizations and 37 ICU admits. It marks the 48th consecutive day the state has been below 3,000 cases in a day.

Presently, there are 1270 people in Georgia hospitalized, down 37 from Thursday.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 320,634 cases, 7106 deaths, 28,791hospitalizations and 5337 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 10.1 percent and in the last 2 weeks, it’s 6.2 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
