Monday: Coweta adds 8 new cases, 1 hospitalization

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Sept. 21.
Coweta County confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 in Monday’s report with 1 hospitalization and 0 deaths. It’s the 2nd straight day to be below 10 cases, the last time that occurred was Sept. 7 and 8. For the month of September, Coweta has confirmed 264 cases (12.6 per day), 15 deaths, and 15 hospitalizations.
With Monday’s 8 cases, Coweta now stands with a cumulative total of 2513. Other cumulative totals include 41 deaths and 123 hospitalizations. The overall positive rate for tests in Coweta remains at 8.6 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
In Georgia on Monday, there were 1184 cases confirmed, 2 deaths (lowest since 2 on Aug. 3), 17 hospitalizations (lowest since 15 on Sept. 7) and 3 ICU admits (lowest since 3 on Sept. 14). It also marks the 37th consecutive day below 3,000 (last day was Aug. 15 with 3273).
Presently, there are 1421 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, up 1 from Sunday.
Overall, Georgia now has cumulative totals of 307,339 cases, 6604 deaths, 27,394 hospitalizations and 5005 ICU admits. The overall rate for positive tests remains at 10.3 percent.
