Friday Daily Status Report: Coweta sets single-day high with 46 cases

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, July 3.
Coweta County added a single-day high 46 new cases of COVID-19, according to Friday’s report. The 46 cases surpasses the previous high of 45 which occurred on May 25. Also, 1 hospitalization was posted in the past 24 hours and deaths remain unchanged.
The 46 cases today ends a 7-day period (since Saturday) where Coweta added 139 cases, 1 death and 5 hospitalizations.
Coweta County now stands with cumulative totals of 754 cases, 16 deaths and 62 hospitalizations.
Coweta County single-day highs in other categories include: deaths – 3 (May 21); and hospitalizations – 6 (May 12).
Statewide, new cases dipped slightly after a record-setting Thursday. Today, Georgia recorded 2,784 cases after posting a single-day high of 3,472 a day earlier. Other numbers saw 7 deaths, 153 hospitalizations and 24 ICU admits since yesterday. It was the 14th time in the past 15 days the state has passed the 1,000-case mark in a single day.
The cumulative totals for Georgia – 90,493 cases, 2856 deaths, 11,653 hospitalizations, 2413 ICU admits. Tests given – 1,065,629.
