Monday: Coweta has lowest number of cases since Aug. 11

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Aug. 24.

Today, Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 with no deaths or hospitalizations reported. The 11 cases were the fewest since the county recorded 11 on Aug. 10. Still, it’s the 35th consecutive day that Coweta has registered double-digit cases.

In August, Coweta has seen 729 cases or 30.4 per day. The 729 cases is the highest monthly total for Coweta since the pandemic began in March. July is the next closest month with 629 cases.

Cumulative totals to date for Coweta include 2025 cases, 26 deaths and 107 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (63 on Aug. 14); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Georgia continued its streak of days below 3,000 cases on Monday. It was the 9th consecutive day to do so with 2304 cases. Other Monday totals included 24 deaths, 56 hospitalizations and 7 ICU admits.

Presently, there are 2350 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, a decrease of 10 from Sunday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 256,253 cases, 5156 deaths, 23,425 hospitalizations and 4272 ICU admits.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
