The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, Oct. 26.

COWETA COUNTY CASES

Coweta County confirmed 8 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday with 0 deaths and 0 hospitalizations reported. It’s the first time in a week that Coweta has been in single-digit cases for a single day, the last time on Oct. 20. Today’s cases push the October total to 329 or an average of 12.7 per day. And of the 8 cases on Monday, the age group of 45-54 years old had the most with 3.

To date, Coweta has registered cumulative totals of 2957 cases, 63 deaths and 145 hospitalizations. The overall positive test rate is 7.9 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.0 percent.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

GEORGIA CASES

In the state on Monday, Georgia confirmed 958 cases (down 360 from Sunday’s totals) with 18 deaths, 19 hospitalizations and 4 ICU admits. It’s the 72nd straight day below 3,000.

Presently, there are 1,405 people in Georgia hospitalized with COVID, up 69 from Sunday’s total.

Overall, Georgia has recorded cumulative totals of 351,881 cases, 7827 deaths, 31,087 hospitalizations and 5829 ICU admits. The overall positive test rate is 9.5 percent, and in the last two weeks, it’s 6.4 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
