Thursday Daily Status Report: Coweta eclipses 400 cases

From Staff Reports
The 7 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Thursday, May 28.
Coweta County recorded an increase of 6 new cases today, which pushes the cumulative total to 403. No new deaths or hospitalizations posted today, thus keeping those totals at 8 and 51, respectively.
There is a discrepancy in Coweta deaths between the Long-Term Care Report (provided by the GA Department of Community Health) and the Daily Status Report (from the GA Department of Public Health). The Long-Term Care Report listed 4 deaths – both yesterday and today – among the data for Newnan Health and Rehabilitation Nursing Home, but only 2 of those have been transferred to the Daily Status Report. In all likelihood, Coweta’s death totals will rise to 10 in the next 24-or-48-hour DPH reporting cycle.
Statewide today, Georgia recorded 628 new cases with 40 deaths, 84 hospitalized and 25 admitted to ICU.
In the last two days combined (Wednesday and Thursday), Georgia has had 1283 cases, 78 deaths, 189 hospitalized and 50 to ICU.
Overall, Georgia now has a cumulative total of 45,266 cases, 1973 deaths, 7829 hospitalized and 1778 ICU admits. The total number of tests administered now stands at 523,359, though 78,173 of that total were antibody tests.
