Update – Monday Evening Report: Coweta soars to 242 cases

UPDATE (6:25 p.m.) – Today’s second Daily Status Report has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Monday, May 4.

This report indicates 29,437 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia (an increase of 334 from Monday’s midday report) and 1243 deaths (an increase of 39 from earlier today).

In Coweta County, the number of new cases rose by 8 from today’s midday report for 12 on the day. Coweta now totals 242 cases. The 4 deaths and 38 hospitalizations remain unchanged. Since midday Friday, Coweta has recorded 47 new cases which is the highest 4-day total of COVID-19 cases since reporting began in March. Coweta had 15 new cases on Friday (May 1), 3 cases on Saturday (May 2), 17 on Sunday (May 3) and 12 today.

Adding the Georgia totals for today (Monday) only, there’s 766 new cases, 62 deaths, 130 people hospitalized, 32 admitted to ICU.

In the last two days (Sunday and Monday), Georgia had 1105 new cases, 69 deaths and 148 folks hospitalized.
