Weather Week in Coweta: Warm start, then cooler temps by Wednesday

After a warm start to the work week today and Tuesday here in Coweta County, the National Weather Services says to expect cooler temperatures beginning Wednesday.

The high temperature will be 84 degrees today and 83 degrees on Tuesday with partly cloudy skies and a 20 percent rain chance.

A cold front moves through Tuesday night, which will drop Wednesday’s high to only 71 and the overnight low in the upper 40s. The high temperatures the rest of the week will be 73 on Thursday, 70 on Friday, 69 on Saturday and 72 on Sunday.

Rain chances of 40 percent arrive on Friday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

TODAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the morning.

TONIGHT – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 63. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

WEDNESDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9am. Sunny, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

THURSDAY – Sunny, with a high near 73.

FRIDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 70.
