Weather: Cool, dry forecast this weekend in Coweta

Another cold front pushed through Coweta County overnight, setting up a cool, breezy start to the weekend. 

The National Weather Service says the weekend will be dry as rain is absent from the extended forecast through Thursday. 

Today, folks here in Coweta can expect clearing skies with a high of only 50 degrees. Northwest winds will be around 10 mph, gusting to 20. And tonight, it will be clear and cold as the low drops below freezing to 30 degrees.

For the Christmas Carnival and Santa on the Square this evening in downtown Newnan, look for clear skies with temperatures in the upper 40s and a North wind between 5-10 mph.

It will be slightly warmer on Saturday and Sunday with highs expect to be near 59 degrees both days. Overnight lows will be in the mid-30s.

The return to the work week has a sunny forecast for Monday with a high of 57.

FRIDAY – Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 30. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 59. North wind around 5 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Partly cloudy, with a low around 38. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 59. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 57.
