Weather: Fall takes over the weekend forecast in Coweta

Fall is officially here and folks in Coweta County will certainly feel the difference this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect high temperatures today near 77 degrees, some 15 degrees cooler than Thursday’s recorded high of 92 at the Newnan-Coweta Airport. The highs on Saturday and Sunday will climb slightly to 82 and 84, respectively.

Overnight lows will be 52 tonight, 60 on Saturday and 59 Sunday.

There will be an East wind at 5-10 mph on Friday, gusting to as high as 20 mph at times. The only other weather factor this weekend will be a 20 percent chance of a shower or thunderstorm on Sunday afternoon.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 77. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 52. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 82.
