Weather: Rainy start to Coweta week

Rain finds itself again in the Coweta County forecast this week, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Showers and possible thunderstorms are likely today after the a morning with areas of fog. Monday’s high temperature will top out near 51 degrees and the rain chance is listed at 90 percent. Tonight, rain continues before tapering off after midnight. The overnight low will be 26.
Sunny skies return on Tuesday but will be colder with a high of only 40. West winds will be around 10 mph from the West, gusting to 15. The overnight low will drop to 25.
Wednesday has more sunny skies earlier in the day before a 30 percent rain chance returns in the afternoon. The high will be 54. Then overnight, another rain system moves in with chances listed at 100 percent through Thursday.

MONDAY – Areas of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Areas of fog before noon. High near 51. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
MONDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 11pm. Low around 26. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
TUESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 40. West wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.
TUESDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 25. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
WEDNESDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. Light and variable wind becoming east 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
THURSDAY – Showers and possibly a thunderstorm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 63. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
FRIDAY – Partly sunny, with a high near 45.
SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 51.
