Weather Week in Coweta: Showers, thunderstorms expected through Wednesday
From Staff Reports
The first official week of summer will start with showers and thunderstorms through Wednesday, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.
Look for a 60 percent rain chance today (Monday), then 80 percent on Tuesday and Wednesday as an increased coverage of showers and thunderstorms are expected. A few thunderstorms may become strong to severe with the main hazards of gusty winds, frequent lightning and heavy rain. This isn’t necessarily a rain event system, just the conditions are in place for pop-up showers and thunderstorms anytime during the day, mainly in the afternoon.
High temperatures will be near 89 today, then drop to 82 on Tuesday and 79 on Wednesday as the clouds and rain linger around. Highs will return to the upper 80s on Friday. Lows will be in the upper 60s.
