Weather Week in Coweta: Rain, cooler temps highlight forecast

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect a bit cooler temperatures this work week in Coweta County with rain chances every day.

The best chance for rain is today and tonight with a 60 percent chance during the day and a 70 percent chance overnight. Look for mostly cloudy skies with a high near 79.

High temperatures will be near 75 on Tuesday, 74 on Wednesday and 76 on Thursday before getting back into the lower 80s on Friday.

Rain probabilities are 20 percent on Tuesday, 40 percent on Wednesday, 40 percent on Thursday and 30 percent on Friday.

Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

MONDAY – A slight chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 8am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 79. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

MONDAY NIGHT – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1am, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1am and 5am. Patchy fog after 11pm. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 60. South wind around 5 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

TUESDAY – A slight chance of showers before 8am, then a slight chance of showers after noon. Patchy fog before 9am. Otherwise, partly sunny, with a high near 75. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

WEDNESDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

THURSDAY – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 76.

FRIDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
