Weather Week in Coweta: Sunny thru Wednesday, storms move in Thursday

After a period of gradual clearing this morning, the sunshine will return to Coweta County through Wednesday to get this work week started.
The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says the lingering rain showers from Sunday’s storms will clear around 1 p.m. Sunny skies will prevail through Wednesday with highs in the low 70s. Gusty winds from the northwest and west will stick around today and Tuesday at 5-10 mph, gusting to as high as 20.
Another round of possibly strong thunderstorms arrive on Thursday and Thursday night. Friday looks to be sunny with a high of 77.
Below is the day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:
MONDAY – Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 9am, then a slight chance of showers between 9am and 10am. Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, cloudy through mid morning, then gradual clearing, with a high near 71. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
MONDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 50. West wind around 5 mph.
TUESDAY – Sunny, with a high near 74. West wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
WEDNESDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 72. Calm wind.
THURSDAY – Showers and thunderstorms. High near 73. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 77.
