Wednesday: Coweta adds 43 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, Aug. 19.
Coweta County confirmed 43 new cases of COVID-19 today, with 1 hospitalization and no deaths reported. It’s the 30th consecutive day that Coweta has seen double-digit cases and so far in August, the daily case average is 30.5 with a total of 579 cases.
Cumulative totals to date for Coweta include 1875 cases, 26 deaths and 107 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (63 on Aug. 14); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).
Statewide, Georgia had 2305 new cases, 55 deaths, 235 hospitalizations and 26 ICU admits on Wednesday. The 2305 cases mark the 4th consecutive day Georgia has seen less than 3,000 cases in a single day. The last time that happened was from July 3 to July 6.
Presently, there are 2573 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, a decrease of 23 from Tuesday.
Overall, Georgia now stands at 243,982 cumulative cases, 4849 deaths, 22,664 hospitalizations and 4143 ICU admits.
Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
