Weekend Weather: Cooler temperatures move in

Fall will really be in the air this weekend here in Coweta County, says the National Weather Service in Peachtree City.

A cold front moves through the area this afternoon and will bring some gusty northwest wind and much cooler temperatures. Today’s high will be 67 degrees with northwest winds at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20. The overnight low will be around 42.

Saturday will feature sunny skies and high of 67 with winds from the north at 5-10 mph, gusting to  15. Saturday’s overnight low will be near 46.

And on Sunday, sunny skies again return with a high near 71 with east winds at 5 mph. The overnight low will be near 54.

Below is the day-by-day official forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

FRIDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 67. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 42. North wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 67. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 15 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT – Clear, with a low around 46. East wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 71. East wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Mostly clear, with a low around 54.
