From Staff Reports

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says the mini heat wave encompassing Georgia, including Coweta County, will stick around a little longer.

It will certainly be in place during this 4-day Memorial Day Holiday Weekend beginning today with high temperatures in the mid-90s and staying there through Monday. In fact, there is little or no chance of rain in that same period and the earliest sign of rain in the forecast comes on Thursday.

With the summer-like temperatures, be sure to stay hydrated and use sunscreen while doing outdoor activities.

Below is the day-by-day forecast from the NWS (as of 6 a.m. today):

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 94. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 95. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 96. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph in the afternoon.

MONDAY – Sunny, with a high near 96.
