Friday: Coweta posts 4 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Friday, Sept. 11.

Coweta County confirmed 4 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday with no deaths or hospitalizations. It was the 3rd day this week that Coweta has been in single digits for daily cases – 2 on Monday, 7 on Tuesday.

Friday’s cases move the Coweta cumulative total to 2379, up from Thursday’s sum of 2375. The overall positive rate for tests in Coweta is 8.8 percent. Other cumulative totals to date include 34 deaths and 112 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Today across the state, Georgia was again below the 2,000-case mark for the 6th consecutive day with 1658. Georgia has been below 3,000 cases now for 27 straight days. Other numbers posted on Friday included 42 deaths, 101 hospitalizations and 18 ICU admits.

Presently, there are 1554 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, up 14 from Thursday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 290,781 cases, 6246 deaths, 26,163 hospitalizations and 4794 ICU admits. The overall rate for positive tests is 10.4 percent.

Georgia’s single-day highs follow: cases (4,813 on July 24); deaths (122 on Aug. 11); hospitalizations (506 on April 7); ICU admits (97 on Aug. 12).
