Weather Weekend in Coweta: Rain chances increase Saturday, Sunday

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says rain chances up to 60 percent on Saturday and 70 percent on Sunday are in the weekend forecast for Coweta County.

Today, look for partly sunny skies with a high near 90 degrees. A 30 percent chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm is possible.

On Saturday, it will be partly sunny skies and rain chances moving from 20 percent in the morning to 60 percent after 3 pm with a high near 86. Then on Sunday, again, partly sunny skies with a 70 percent rain chance most of the day. The high will be near 85.

Lows will be around 70 degrees all weekend.

Rain chances continue into the early portion of next week but high temperatures will remain in the low 80s.

Below is a day-by-day forecast (subject to change) from the NWS:

FRIDAY – A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. East wind around 5 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10pm, then a slight chance of showers between 10pm and 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

SATURDAY – A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. East wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

SATURDAY NIGHT – A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. East wind around 5 mph.

SUNDAY – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. East wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

SUNDAY NIGHT – Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 8pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
